Models 3G or earlier

Note that if your iPhone model is 3G or earlier, you should hold it at least 10-12 inches away while shooting your document to avoid out-of-focus scans (or use Griffin Clarifi case for sharp shots).

Edge detection

Use a darker background for your documents for best edge detecting. Allow for some margin around the document in the viewfinder.

Camera

Use Camera for regular (single shot) scans of your documents. If the document is well lit, and you are holding your iPhone steady, you can get very good results from a single shot.

Super x3

To use Super x3 mode, press the Super x3 button. You'll be prompted to take three images of the document with the iPhone camera. After you're done, Scan will process your document automatically.

Super x3 is our proprietary scanning mode that delivers sharper images with less jitter or smear. Super x3 requires taking three pictures of the same document with the iPhone camera. Super x3 mode is especially useful in lower-light conditions.
